Deanna Bogart

Just A Wish Away…

Deanna Bogart, award-winning multi-instrumentalist, broadens her horizons further on "Just A Wish Away…" her newest release. Over a single year Bogart took a personal and musical transitional journey, travelling from Chesapeake Bay to Nashville, from the deserts of Southern California to deep in the Louisiana bayou, where this release was recorded.
"Just A Wish Away…" features some of Bogart's strongest songwriting to date, evoking the excitement of new possibilities tinged with a hint of wistful melancholy at what is left behind. There's the locomotion of "If It's Gonna Be Like This," the tender and surprising "Back and Forth Kid" and the sultry, horn-driven "Collarbone." Throughout Bogart's signature cut-above song-writing demonstrates the diverse dialects of her musical fluency.
Bogart, joined by producer Joe Michaels, creates a band of world class players: Marty Rifkin (Bruce Springsteen), Bonerama Homs (Harry Connick Jr.), Charlie Wooton (Royal Southern Brotherhood), Scott Ambush (Spyro Gyra), Cris Jacobs (The Bridge), Terrence Houston (George Porter), Derwin "Big D" Perkins (Jon Cleary), and more. Together they produce a swinging, funky groove well-suited to the genre defying breadth of Bogart's songs.

Pianoland

"In art, as in life, you can’t have magic if you’re not willing to risk the train wrecks," says multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and songwriter, Deanna Bogart. And on Pianoland she took a risk and produced something unique in her recorded work; here is an album that spotlights her considerable skills as a solo performer.
Comprising instrumentals and vocal tracks, her own sparkling compositions, and well-chosen covers by the likes of Errol Garner and Harold Arlen, all arranged in sparse solo and small group settings, Bogart’s risk has conjured pure musical magic.
Bogart has received numerous awards recognising her dazzling keyboards, soulful saxophone and smoky vocals. She’s jammed with Tommy Castro and Magic Dick, and played on stage with BB King, Buddy Guy and James Brown.
